These are some samples of Kay Beach’s work.
Kay works in wax and oil-based color pencil. Colors are mixed on the support, applying the pencil with a needle-sharp point in smooth layers. She continues to build the layers -at times 20 or more- and colors until she gets the shading and saturation she wants. Presto …a 100 hours, and a few thousand pencil strokes later she has a colored pencil painting
