News —————————————————————————— Equipment

Experience

I have over 20 years’ experience as a performing musician – in the studio, on the road and in local venues – as a guitarist, bassist and vocalist.  I know what it takes to produce good music.  I have an associates degree in music theory and have performed all kinds of music, from jazz to folk.  As an engineer, I study and I limit myself to working within genres that are familiar to me and for which I have a passion.  Currently that is acoustic music – folk, bluegrass and singer/songwriter.  That way, I can bring all of my musical expertise to the table to help produce the best music and sound within my capabilities

Environment

My studio is set up specifically for acoustic music.  It is a wonderfully quiet and appealing setting, with a combination of low and high frequency absorbers so that your sound is pure – no reflections or distortions.  It is a small studio with an intimate feel and pleasant surroundings.

Equipment

I have good equipment and am always looking to acquire more and even better gear.  But I don’t let gear become the focus.   My aim is to get the best possible sound from the artist, record it accurately and reproduce it as naturally as possible.

Empathy

I strive to produce a supportive and positive environment.  Ultimately the music comes from and belongs to the artist.  I am there to encourage and support.  I offer suggestions when appropriate or when asked.
